“Death has a way of complicating things.”*

Webb & Schtul optimizes simplification.

If you have been appointed by the will of a friend, relative or loved one to serve as personal representative upon his or her death, yours is an important role because, upon your acceptance of such an appointment, you are a “fiduciary.”  In short, that means you have a lot of responsibility to a lot of different people called “interested parties.”  These may include heirs of the decedent’s estate, creditors of the decedent and, of course, the IRS and the state’s department of revenue.  Depending on the nature and size of the estate, you need an experienced legal representative to guide you through the maze of state and federal laws.

And, unfortunately, sometimes heirs, close family members, distant relatives and even appointed estate representatives do go astray and take unlawful actions that are harmful to interested parties, including heirs and creditors of the estate.  Or, you may have legitimate reasons to question the validity of a will or a trust instrument.  In these kinds of circumstances also, an experienced probate lawyer is the only answer.

Webb & Schtul attorneys have served as estate counsel, representing the personal representatives of small/medium and very large, complex estates.  We also have acted on behalf of the gamut of interested parties to various estates, including heirs, devisees and creditors.  Our representation has included services at the trial level, as well as several appeals.

And, the Director of Probate Services, Horace A. Lowe, has authored of series of articles on the subject of probate collections. Lowe is a leading scholar on the subject of collecting consumer debt in probate, his primary audience including over 18,000 risk management professionals in the financial services industry in North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific.

So, no matter what your role may be, we are the premier small firm to help simplify the legal processes.  To understand a little more about our Probate Services, click on any subject below.  You may also view any of several videos on the subject.  Of course, if you want a more detailed explanation of our services, just contact us for an initial consultation.
